My Mom, a Catholic, and Her Friends Went Several Times to See Charlie in Phoenix at His Church. She Was Only a Few Feet from Him The Week Before He Went to Utah. His Message Was Pretty Universal…and Universally Accepted.
Ben Shapiro Has an Agenda. Some of His Agenda is Good. I Don’t Hate the Man. He Has Many Elements of Truth in His Message. At the Same Time He is Focused on Israel’s Survival at All Costs. I Understand the Plight. It’s a Dangerous Position to Be in Because He Acts Emotionally for What He Thinks Will Be in Israel’s Best Interests…It Doesn’t Always Pan out That Way…
Ben Wants to Have an Influence on TP USA and the Minds of Impressionable Youth. He Wants to Cultivate a Positive Attitude Towards Israel. I Get That. Colleges are Leftist Cesspools of Anti-Israel Hate. Oddly Enough, Plenty of Leftist Jews Spout That Hate and Indoctrination. Even Michael Savage Said about 2/3 of Jews are Liberal. He Listed a Few Lib Jews He Hates.
Legit Criticism Should Be Available to Everyone. Charlie Kirk Set the Example of How to Do It Intellectually and Effectively without Degrading and Destroying Your Opponent. He had grace, poise and class…
Most of all, he had love in his heart for fellow men and women, even though they disagreed. Much like Christ did, even while rebuking his fellow errant religious and political Jewish contemporaries who ultimately had him killed.
I’m going to say this again for all of you passionate Christian Zionists out there: I believe in borders, language and culture. Israel has a right to exist. I am a Traditional Minded Catholic. The Catholic position on the recent phenomenon of Christian Zionism can be researched. I’m not going to reiterate what it is. Zionism is not in accord with traditional Christian thought.
I don’t believe in several other things Christian Zionists believe scripturally. I think they are bending and twisting scripture to fit a well-meaning but errant agenda. I think many are sincere and believe they are doing the right thing. Most. Many. But not all.
Undoubtedly, at first, Judas thought he was doing the right thing in betraying Christ. That surely a small lapse in loyalty and misunderstanding of his earthly mission wouldn’t ultimately be harmful because Jesus would rise up against his persecutors, defeat them and establish his kingdom on earth–after all he performed all of those miracles showcasing his power. So what’s a measly 30 pieces of silver and a kiss on the cheek?
Jews who aren’t Christian or don’t really understand traditional Christianity – like Netanyahu whining about medieval persecution by Christians (read Catholics) the other day – think that by aligning with Christian Zionists, especially politicians like Ted Cruz, they are afforded protection and security for Israel.
They are wrong. God’s will and the truth of his Son will not be ultimately thwarted. Existentially, God is the author of history and Jesus is King of the Universe. Reject that and you reject Logos. Good luck living in a fantasy world of Zionist utopia on earth–paved with rampant violence, by the way.
Had Jesus wanted that, he would have accepted the Devil’s offer of the kingdoms of the world when he was being tempted in the desert (and readily turned Israel into an earthly, Zionist paradise) in exchange for his soul–but he rejected it! Power is a devilish pursuit. Many have taken the devil up on his offer and exchanged their souls for fame, power (political and otherwise), success and wealth…
Serious biblical scholars reject a lot of the Protestant Christian Zionist exegetical gymnastics and see the danger of playing games with meaning, interpretation and politicization. Everyone wants to back up their position with the word of God.
Be on guard.
Hopefully, TP USA survives and thrives without being pulled apart by various competing interests…
