The revolving door is from government to the private sector and back again: be it from an unelected cabinet level position into the media, top of the corporate, military industrial complex and back again into the government. It’s a real, almost, aristocracy. Both the Right and Left do it.
Why would a powerful guy like Richard Armitage, who served under Republican George Bush, vote for Hillary Clinton over Trump? Hannity interviewed him before. Isn’t he a bedrock Republican? Aren’t Clinton and Armitage ideologically opposed?
Well, he had his own consulting business and business would have been better under Clinton, so he went with the pragmatic relationship. To me, that’s pure pension-chasing careerism, opportunism or corporate (institutional) sociopathy. There’s plenty of corporate sociopaths in the military industrial complex. I’ve worked with a few in that industry and government. His self-interest was not in the best interest of the country.
Then there’s the true believers. Subversive former FBI Director James Comey wrote a book “A Higher Loyalty…” Apparently “the cause” is higher even than the constitution and free democratic process itself.
Ideological unity is an interlocking board of directorships equivalent. The Deep State functions as de facto interlocking board of directorships. The Globalist common cause interlocking directorship meets at Bohemian Grove.
It’s not a conspiracy, it’s how things work at the top: ideology and common cause wedded to direct action, or pure self-interest and opportunism married to the thirst for power and greed.
It’s beyond political, it has metaphysical component since many are Marxists. It’s a religion, a cult of Liberalism.
Absent is authentic self-sacrifice for the good of the nation, though they masquerade as fine purveyors of such.
