(First photo Mike in Libya on the way to PCS in Morocco. U.S. Air Force September, 1957…)
Michael grew up in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and served in Air Force Intelligence at the age of 17 in North Africa (Libya, Morocco) and at Hamilton Air Force Base in Northern California.
He retired from IBM as a Technical Writer and Instructional Designer. At IBM he wrote over 20 books for use by various Fortune 500 companies as well as being one of the original Silicon Valley developers of CBT (Computer Based Training) and taught thousands of students in stand-up lectures.
He was also an award winning Flash Fiction author who wrote several short story books, how-to texts for aspiring writers as well as short stories that appeared in Flash Fiction magazines around the world.
He played the accordion magnificently since the age of 10 and used to play in bars as a kid to put food on the table for his mother and brother. He played with Joey Dee and the Starliters before their famous hit “Peppermint Twist.”
His biography is much more than this…
He fought many battles for good and to help other people. But most of all he taught me to love America and to fight for the things I believe in.
He is survived by his two sons Michael and John and his daughters Michelle, Noel and several grand children.
He is loved and missed by many friends and relatives. He was a practicing Roman Catholic who has entered into the glory of God to be with his Mother Adele and his brother John as well as many more friends and relatives who have gone on before him to the further shore…
He died peacefully in his sleep.
