Mysticism could be a metaphor for applied theology. Applied theology is action. Therefore, mysticism can be synonymous with action, both divine and human: before the deed is the word, before the word is the thought (consciousness/spirit). “In the beginning was the word…”
God inspires us, through grace, and we aspire to God.
Mystical does not simply mean hazy, impractical and “airy-fairy.” Mysticism is very practical in nature.
Actually, it’s super-nature (beyond nature or supernatural) and mysterious. While the supernatural makes itself known through nature (for example, via miracles and synchronicities) nature is perhaps its reflection…it time.
