Faith (Alone) is Dead…

QUOTE:

JESUS NEVER TAUGHT “FAITH ALONE”

Jesus certainly taught that we must believe in Him.

But He never said that faith alone is sufficient for salvation.

Instead, Jesus repeatedly calls us to a living faith expressed through obedience, repentance, perseverance, and love.

• “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” (John 14:15)

• “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father.” (Matthew 7:21)

• “He who endures to the end will be saved.” (Matthew 24:13)

• “If you would enter life, keep the commandments.” (Matthew 19:17)

• In the Parable of the Sheep and the Goats, Jesus judges people by whether they fed the hungry, welcomed the stranger, clothed the naked, and cared for the suffering. (Matthew 25:31–46)

The only time the phrase “faith alone” appears in the Bible, it is rejected:

“You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.” (James 2:24)

Catholics do not believe we earn salvation by our works.

We believe we are saved by God’s grace through faith—a faith that is living, obedient, and active in love (Galatians 5:6).

Saving faith is never alone. It bears the fruit of a transformed life.
