In spiritual terms, atheists are self-made idols who worship a creator: namely themselves.

And they are jealous gods who will have no other gods before them, much less the God of the Bible. Hence their turf-conscious and fierce attacks against any competition.

Another translation:

Nothing comes from nothing,
There is something (the material cosmos).
Therefore, there never was nothing.

This something could not bring itself into existence or else it would have had to exist before it existed, which is an impossibility.

Therefore, something else had to bring it into existence.
This is what we call God.

In other words in the beginning was God (spirit, mind, consciousness), not a material cosmos which could not bring itself into existence, much less the Big Bang. The Big Bang couldn’t bring itself into existence.

That is, mind created matter. Matter didn’t create mind or else the effect (mind) would be greater than the cause (materialism), which is another impossibility.

If the material universe collapsed tomorrow, 1 +1 still equals 2. Why? It is an immutable, eternal principle independent of even the cosmos itself.

Now get off your high horse and quit judging God and get on your knees and start worshipping him. And if not that, at least love your neighbor as yourself…
