I was baptized and confirmed in the Byzantine (Eastern Rite) of the Catholic Church in New Jersey and had my First Holy Communion in the Roman Catholic (Western Rite) in California.

So I guess you could say I’ve got a foot in both camps: the Mystical and Scholastic; hence, my old world and new world approaches to life…being the half-baked, sorry excuse for a Catholic that I am.
