I like Gorky, I do. I get the routine. You’ve got to be entertaining…but never stray too far from the Salem Radio Network sentiment. I know where Gorky – meat and potatoes – stands on an issue and that’s a plus in my book + predictability has its reliable, steady-on privileges: like that monthly government check in the mail; like clockwork. Why take unnecessary risks, say, like a Tucker Carlson or Alex Jones? Truth is split between black and white…right?
Gorky’s British accent and Shakespearean caliber vocal inflections just add to the drama and unquestionable authority…without really saying anything we didn’t already know. As the old saying goes, “just tell ’em what they want to hear.”
You always know what you’re getting when you order a Gorky Burger: straight up 1/4 pound of factory farmed beef, a slice of Kraft American cheese and Safeway bun. Straight down the party line, baby: Two tickets to the county fair, a corndog, Coke and a bit of blarney thrown in as the price of admission. Three hots and a cot with an American flag t-shirt as a party favor. Thanks for coming Mr. and Mrs. America, have a nice day and by the way, ever consider an ounce or two of gold in your 401(k)?
Reliving the attempted assassination of Trump was a bit over the top as an opener – being such a traumatic assault on the national consciousness it was – but it’s undoubtedly an effective tip of the hat, if not grand evocation of patriotism as a precursor warmup to the arrival of the Great Man himself.
And Trump is a great man…seemingly casting a wide halo on those around him. You get patriot points for even having shaken his hand. Besides, politics is a team sport made even better when your team wins.
I think G. was a little abrupt with the questioners at the end, but the vox dei actually deigning to open it up to the vox populi is always a good sign, signaling that narcissism hasn’t totally triumphed…even if he seemed a little annoyed and pressed for time. So much to do…
Now, all of the fanfare, back-slapping and joking aside, tell us – besides Iran – what are the greatest threats to America’s national security Dr. Gorka…?
