I finished my pizza lunch and walked out the door. I saw the owner Tony in a wheel chair coming in. I said I heard you survived Covid, what happened?
He told me the story: He and his wife went and got a Covid test last year at the beginning of the epidemic. They were positive. She was sick for a week and survived in good shape, he died…and came back to life after a 4 month coma. He’s on permanent dialysis since his kidneys are shot. He’s in an electric (permanent?) wheelchair too.
He and his wife came home. His oxygen level dropped to under 80%. He doesn’t remember much next except that he woke up in a hospital. Actually he was in a coma in the first hospital and they moved him to another one here in Phoenix.
He’s still got a massive bed sore that they’re trying to inject collagen into to build it up.
He died once or twice while in the four month coma. I think he said it was a heart attack. I asked him if he had any spiritual experiences? He said yes but he doesn’t talk about them because people will think he’s crazy. He said he saw two beautiful angels, youngish females with white, flowing gowns. [In Catholicism I believe the teaching is you have two angels assigned to you during this life: 1) your birthday angel; 2) your guardian angel. So this makes sense].
He said it was very peaceful and he’s not afraid to die. He told me don’t be afraid to die. Dying is easy.
His wife wasn’t allowed into the hospital for a while but was able to fight for his care even though he got a massive bed sore that’s still affecting him.
I asked him what his medical preconditions/predispositions were that made him so sick? He said he lost 80 lbs in the hospital from the ordeal but that his obesity (He’s Italian and owns a couple restaurants so good, calorie-rich eats are always around) and diabetes probably made the disease so dangerous.
He told me to get vaccinated. I told him I’m very skeptical of the MRNA vax and think I could survive Covid without getting too sick. He got a little irritated and insisted I get vaccinated. I believe he sincerely thinks it will help and possibly save my life.
One thing I’m convinced of from talking to him is that this is no natural, evolutionary disease. This is a weapons-lab, bio-warfare, franken-virus. And I’m not the first to say it.
I asked about one of his other restaurants that was forced to close down last year and he said it should be opening in a few weeks. Hopefully the Delta virus doesn’t shut it down again.
Physically, he is torn up for the rest of his life but I was amazed at his positive attitude and gratitude to be alive.
Taking the vax is a personal choice. Do your due diligence and say your prayers if you roll the vax dice. I won’t hold it against you. This is a dangerous, crippling, deadly disease…for some. For others, like the ex-rhythm guitarist of my band it was a one-week ordeal akin to a moderate cold and nothing more.
