I can’t remember all the details and don’t want to embellish it upon reflection. His bodyless head was on the ground. I believe it was in my backyard. Perhaps the backyard of my old house in San Jose, California.
I was talking to him and making sure he was OK and comfortable. He was. There was no blood or anything like that. I’m not sure what we were talking about. I think there were other people around.
(On a side note, my first phone call to Michael in the late 1990s, when he was a local host on KSFO, was made from my backyard with me sitting on a chair on my porch…the phone cord stretched out the door).
A cat, or perhaps a small dog was walking towards him and I made sure it didn’t get near.
Here’s where it gets sketchy: Then, either a small dog was licking his forehead or…his head was suddenly attached to the body of a small dog and he became ambulatory. Or both.
